According to health authorities and the Seoul city government, the 10 employees of Lotteria met at a franchise restaurant near the Gunja subway station in the eastern Seoul ward of Gwangjin and later visited two restaurants in the area.

The Lotteria employees were joined by nine more people, raising concerns over a possibly more significant outbreak.

Officials are now conducting epidemiological research to track down others who came into contact with the employees who tested positive for the virus.

The restaurants were also disinfected to avoid transmission of the virus.
