Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Debold Sinas said three senior police officials have tested positive for COVID-19.

Sinas identified the infected police officers as Northern Police District chief Police Brigadier General Ronnie Ylagan, Firearms and Explosives director Police Brigadier General Rommil Mitra, and Police Brigadier General Joey Runes from the Office of the Chief PNP.

“So nagkalabasan ‘yan noong nag-command conference kasi kaya hindi sila naka-attend ng conference kasi nga mga positive na sila and it’s good kasi at least may early detection tayo,” Sinas said.

Sinas said he has ordered for the regular COVID-19 testing among police officers to prevent the spread of the disease in the police organization.

So far, the PNP has 8,103 COVID-19 cases in which 370 are active.
