Limang miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) ang nasawi matapos na makipagbakbakan sa tropa ng militar at pulis nitong Miyerkules sa Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

Kinilala ni Major Gen. Juvymax Uy ng Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Division ang mga nasawing rebelde na sina Romeo at Merly Libron, Rogelio Magsaysay at dalawang nakilala lamang sa pangalang Macoy at Megan.

Si Romeo Libron ang umano’y tumatayong leader ng grupo at sangkot sa serye ng pambobomba sa mga bus sa Central Mindanao, construction equipment at business establishment na tumatangging magbigay ng rebolutionary tax o protection money.

Ayon sa ulat, magsisilbi sana ng warrant of arrest ang mga tauhan ng Lake Sebu municipal police at Army’s 5th Special Forces Battalion laban sa mga suspect nang bigla silang paputukan ng mga ito.

Gumanti ng putok ang mga alagad ng batas na ikinasawi ng mga rebelde.
