73,000 OFWS NAKINABANG SA SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM SA GITNA NG PANDEMYA

Aabot sa 73,000 na mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) at dependents ng mga ito ang sumailalim at naka-graduate na sa skills training program na inaalok ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Ayon kay TESDA Director-General Isidro Lapeña, base sa kanilang survey, nasa 85% ang employability ng mga sumailalim sa kanilang pagsasanay.

“So more likely, our OFWs that were trained are either employed or they have their own business or livelihood po. And we continue to train our OFWs as stated earlier na mayroon kaming online na TESDA apps for registration and for enrollment,” pahayag ni Secretary Lapeña.

Bukod dito, sa oras na nakapagparehistro na ang mga OFWs, ang kanilang mga regional offices at provincial officers ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga ito, upang alamin kung ano ang kanilang interes o skills na nais nilang mahubog.

Pagkatapos nito ay tutulungan rin ang mga OFWs na magkaroon ng trabaho.

“Ang TESDA kapag po nag-train, it should result to a job or a livelihood after. So, ganoon po ang ginagawa ng TESDA sa ating mga kababayan,” paliwanag ni Lapeña.
