AUSTRALIA EXTENDS COVID-19 LOCKDOWN IN MELBOURNE
Australian officials ordered the extension of Melbourne’s lockdown, the country’s second-biggest city, for two more weeks, despite the drop in COVID-19 cases.
Officials said that the decline in infections is not enough to prevent another surge of the virus.
Residents of Melbourne was initially due to exit a strict six-week lockdown next weekend.
Around 63 new cases and five deaths were reported in Victoria on Sunday after it peaked beyond 700.
