A community in Baybay City in Leyte will remain under lockdown after several secondary contacts of confirmed patients have tested positive in the random rapid antigen testing for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Mayor Jose Carlos Cari approved Executive Order 87 extending the lockdown in Sangi-Minteryo area, a portion of Hipugsno village, starting 10 a.m. on Monday until Dec. 15 to facilitate the disease surveillance, contact tracing, and testing to contain the spread of the virus.

The community was placed under strict movement restrictions on Nov. 18 having the city’s most active coronavirus cases.
