Police Lt. Gen. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, the newly designated Chief of the Philippine National Police, vowed to continue the police efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday.

The new Chief PNP heads the administrative support for the COVID-19 Task Force, which monitors the logistical aspect of police officers’ deployment during the pandemic.

President Rodrigo Duterte has chosen Cascolan to lead the 209,000-strong police organization, replacing outgoing PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa.
