Several states in the Midwest reported increasing COVID-19 infections in surpassing cases in the United States to 6 million.

Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota recently recorded one-day increases.

Montana and Idaho, on the other hand, are seeing record numbers of currently hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

Some cases are emerging in universities and colleges, forcing some to switch to online-only learning.

The United States has the most deaths in the world at nearly 183,000.
