Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said he is still not ready to give the COVID-19 vaccine from Russia a go signal because it needs further study.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stressed that they have to learn more about the vaccine called Sputnik V, which is named after the world’s first satellite, Sputnik, launched by the Soviet Union.

It was developed by the Gamaleya research institute and Russia defense ministry.

Even Health undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire is still not sure if such a vaccine will be available locally by December.
