Lumusot na sa ikatlong pagbasa sa Kamara ang House Bill 6927 of E-Government bill Act na nakakuha ng 229 affirmative votes.

Layunin ng batas ang isulong ang isang contactless at electronic-based system ng serbiysyo at transaksyon sa government agencies at corporations.

Inaasahan na sa pamamagitan nito ay mapagbubuti ang ‘ease of doing business’ ng bansa at bilang pagtalima na rin sa ‘new normal’.

Sa ilalim ng panukala inaatasan ang DICT na magtatag ng isang E-Government Master Plan na isasailalim sa review kada tatlong taon.

Bahagi ng masterplan ang pagkakaroon ng isang Philippine government inter-operability framework na siyang magiging gabay para sa basic technical and informational inter-operability of the ICT system ng lahat ng ahensya ng pamahalaan, archives at records management information system na siyang magdi-digitize ng paper based documents at government online payment system.

Matatandaan na noong SONA ng Pangulong Duterte ay hinimok ng Pangulo ang Kongreso na mahinto na ang paper-based official transactions at pagpila sa mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan.
