Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando on Wednesday said he will appeal to President Rodrigo Duterte to not totally ban firecrackers in the country next year and instead regulate its sale.

Fernando said over 300,000 persons dependent on the industry will lose their livelihood if firecrackers will be totally banned in the country next year.

Duterte earlier said he is planning to issue an order to ban the manufacture, sale and use of firecrackers.

Firecracker vendors, meanwhile, asked Duterte to reconsider his plan as they will lose their source of income.
