GAMBOA STILL MUM ON TALKS OF NEW GOV’T POST
A day before he retires from police service, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa remained mum on whether he will be offered a new post in the government.
Gamboa said he understands why up to now, President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision on the next PNP chief is not yet announced.
Asked if he would lead the National Bureau of Investigation, Gamboa replied: “No comment.”
Gamboa was also asked to comment if Duterte decides to extend his term as the father of the police force. He said, “No comment, basta, I’m packed. I’m ready to go.”
“Let’s just wait for the President. I think when I texted SILG last night, they will talk it out with the President today. So we will just wait,” he added.
Gamboa, who belongs to the Philippine Military Academy “Sinagtala” Class of 1986, is set to retire on Wednesday, September 2.
He said he already issued an order that mañanita will not be allowed on his birthday.
