According to Reuters tally, more than 77.53 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,707,840 have died.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 17,998,770 cases and 319,644 deaths.

It was followed by:

India: 10,075,116 cases and 146,111 deaths
Brazil: 7,263,619 cases and 187,291 deaths
Russia: 2,906,503 cases and 51,912 deaths
France: 2,490,946 cases and 61,702 deaths
