GLOBAL COVID-19 CASES REACH 24.84 MILLION, DEATH TOLL NOW AT 837,623

According to a Reuters tally, more than 24.84 million persons have been infected by COVID-19 globally, with 837,632 deaths.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US still leads with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 5,932,923 and 181,866 deaths.

Brazil followed with 3,804,803 cases and 119,504 deaths, next is India with 3,463,972 cases and 62,550 deaths.

Russia followed with 980,405 cases and 16,914 deaths, while Peru recorded 629,961 cases and 28,471 deaths.

The Philippines is 22nd on the list, with 213,131 cases and 3,419 deaths.
