Authorities identified the suspect as Joemarie Arro, 53, who was allegedly connected to the group of Joven “Lex” Ceralvo, the commanding officer of the Suyak Platoon, Southern Front, KR-Panay.

Authorities said Arro is allegedly involved in the production and selling of weapons.

The suspect was arrested at around 6:30 am in Barangay Aguiauan, Iloilo.

Seized from the suspect’s possession were one 12-gauge shotgun; five 12-gauge shotgun barrels; a semi-pistol of unknown caliber; one improvised caliber .38 pistol with magazine; five air guns; seven caliber .38 revolvers; 12 assorted magazines; 187 assorted ammunition; and some gunsmith tools.

According to the police, most of the firearms recovered from him were believed to be of Ceralvo’s group.

“The arrest of Arro is in line with our efforts in ending local communist armed conflict,” PRO VI chief Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan said.
