High ranking NPA leader Mitchel Fat alias TM, EPI, and Lakas was killed in police and military operation on Monday at Kilometer 109, Barangay Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental.

According to Weann A. Sandag, Civil-Military Officer (CMO) of 15th Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division of Philippine Army, Lakas is the Squad Leader of Squad 1, SYP Platoon, CN2, KR-NCBS and a known High-Value Individual (HVI) of Central Negros Front.

He was the leader of the group behind the brutal killing of four Policemen in Ayungon, Negros Oriental last July 18, 2019.

Accordingly, the NPA leader has three standing Warrants of Arrest with Criminal Case No. A2020-74-CRC, Criminal Case No. A2020-71-CRC and Criminal Case No. A2020-73-CRC issued by 7th RTC, Branch 75 of Bais City, Negros Oriental.

Initial investigation showed that government forces were serving the warrants when they were fired upon by the said suspect armed with Cal. 45 pistols, which prompted the operating troops to retaliate that resulted in the suspect’s neutralization.
