PH RECORDS 4,284 MORE COVID-19 CASES, OVER 22,000 NEW RECOVERIES

The Department of Health (DOH) announced 4,284 new infections, marking the fifth straight day in which more than 3,000 new cases were reported and bringing the total number of infections to 217,396.

Metro Manila still logged the highest number of new infections with 2,207 cases, followed by Laguna with 327, Cavite with 191, Batangas with 161, and Rizal with 147.

Among the newly reported cases, 88 percent or 3,779 contracted COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries rose to 157,403 after 22,319 more patients recovered from the respiratory disease.
