Pinag-aaralan ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang posibilidad na ipagpatuloy ang pagpapadala ng newly-hired Filipino workers sa Jordan.

Ginawa ni POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia ang pahayag makaraang iulat kamakailan na ipinagpaliban ng Pilipinas ang pagpapadala ng mga bangong OFW sa naturang bansa matapos magpahayag ng pagkabahala si Ambassador to Jordan Akmad Sakkam tungkol sa kaligtasan bunga ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“Pag-aaralan po natin kung papaano po natin iri-resume iyong deployment, at tayo po ay makikipag-ugnayan sa ating mga kasama po doon,” Pahayag ni Olalia.

Ayon sa Philippine embassy sa Amman, tinatayang mayroong 26,000 hanggang 28,000 Filipino ang naninirahan at nagtatrabaho ngayon sa Jordan.
