RENO LIVER SPREAD BACK IN THE MARKET, SECURES FDA REGISTRATION
The iconic Reno liver spread brand is now back in the market after it secured a product registration certificate from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The food and drugs regulatory body chief said securing a CPR means that the product can now go back in the shelves of markets.
On September 16, the FDA issued an advisory warning the public against buying Reno liver spread because the product has never undergone an evaluation of the agency.
The agency explained that the manufacturer of the popular household brand failed to secure a CPR.
The FDA said that there are types of authorizations before any processed food product can be released in the Philippine market.
The FDA said the manufacturer of Reno Brand Liver Spread has an existing LTO as food repacker.
In 2017, the company applied for the variation of their LTO to include their product line as manufacturer of processed meat products. Upon inspection of the FDA, the company was granted approval of the LTO as manufacturer.
