UST SUPPORTS ALDIN AYO’S APPEAL VS INDEFINITE BAN FROM UAAP

The University of Santo Tomas is supporting the appeal of former head coach Aldin Ayo against the indefinite ban slapped on him by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

In a statement on Tuesday, the league said it received a letter from the University endorsing Ayo’s request for reconsideration.

“The association will tackle the appeal in due time,” said the UAAP.

Ayo resigned from his post as the head coach of the Growling Tigers following the fallout from the alleged “Sorsogon bubble.”

The UAAP sanctioned the coach for “endangering the health and well-being of the student athletes under his charge when he conducted the training during a government-declared state of public emergency intended to arrest the COVID-19
