VALVE MASKS INEFFECTIVE VS. COVID-19 -RESEARCHERS
According to researchers at Florida Atlantic University, valve masks are ineffective at preventing the spread of COVID-19 as invisible droplets can spray over a vast area when they sneeze or cough.
The face shield helps in blocking the passage of the droplets.
“The expelled droplets can move around the visor with relative ease and spread out over a large area,” the researchers said.
It added that a large number of droplets pass through the exhale valve unfiltered, which makes it ineffective in stopping the spread of the COVID-19 virus if the person wearing the mask is infected.
